Book 3 · human and community memory

The SunRockers

50+ · GROWN-UP · ACTIVE · TOGETHER.

An illustrated and oral-history book about Sun Park Living in Playa Blanca and a grown-up community built around longer stays, friendship, participation, activity, contribution and reinvention. The SunRockers were not conceived as passive tourists or an elderly-care proposition, but as adults with another chapter still to live.

Historic project-owned material may be used where rights permit. Identifiable people and third-party-owned photographs remain subject to privacy, consent and copyright checks.

The proposition

Another chapter after 50 can still be social, active, useful and adventurous.

Stay longer

Time mattered: enough to know Playa Blanca, know the place and know one another rather than pass through on a conventional short holiday.

Take part

Residents and guests could contribute skills, ideas, activities and energy. Participation was part of the proposition, not a side programme.

Belong

The memorable asset was community: friendships, repeat stays, shared activity and the possibility of a richer later chapter.

The place

Playa Blanca before the case file

The book returns to terraces, pool, conversations, music, walking, gardening, small markets, reading, social events and resident-led activity—the lived texture that later legal history could never adequately describe.

The memory project

Guests, staff and returning voices

The archive is only one side. The finished book is designed to collect memories, photographs and contrary as well as affectionate recollections from people who were actually there.

Ethos

Life can get larger, not smaller.

The SunRockers idea connects friendship, community, contribution and later-life possibility. Adam J. Jackson's The Ethos is treated as a philosophical reference in that wider conversation, not as an endorsement of this book or the legal project.
